Patience is not my middle name... but this time it paid!

Hey there!

How was your weekend? We had a busy weekend as usual. Hockey game for Anthony on the full ice rink (he scored twice! whoohoo). Farmers market for Haley and I. I think we finally found an all natural cream for her eczema (i hope). And we got a whole lot of projects taken care around the house. It was one of those weekends. Plus, I'm really hoping to announce big news soon, but I'm trying not to get my hopes up too much.

Today, I'd thought I'd share our Living Room.

This room as evolved over the past 7 years, to a room that I find quiet, comfy and welcoming. I love to go in here with a magazine or book and read. Haley has told me it's her favourite place to read as well.

For the past year, I've been on the hunt for new lamps. The last ones that we had for over 14 years, met their maker when Anthony and his friend got into a pillow fight one day, smashing one of them to smithereens. >:( So with no lamps (other than the small one on the buffet) this room was pretty dark at night.

This weekend while at Costco we came across a pair of lamps that I just had to have. They were $38 for two lamps! I've been looking for almost a year for new lamps, but everything I found (new) that I loved was well over $50 per lamp. So I thought this was great bargain. (I've also looked at used lamps, but I just haven't found what I was looking for.)

So, here is an on-slaught of pics...

This is looking for the front window.

Here's the box the lamps came in. I have a feeling these lamps will be with us for a long time (unless Anthony has another pillow fight in there).

So the moral of this story my friend, is it pays to be patient and wait to find something you really love.

So tell me, what's the longest you've waited for something?
