Last time I left you with a House for Sale.
We listed the house last Tuesday, we had 15 showings between Tuesday and Wednesday. On the second day, the showings started at 9:00 a.m. and the last showing didn't end until 9:00 p.m.
It was insane. And tiring.
On Thursday morning, we got word that we had two different couples wanting to put offers on the house. We made appointments to have the agents come to our house on Thursday night to present the offers, and two hours later the deal was done. No restrictions on selling their own house. No house inspections. No restrictions on financing. It was a relief. We had two different offers, both for more money than we were asking. The only difference was they had two different closing dates. We want a 4 month closing, so we have time to go shopping and the kids can continue going to school as normal.
Funny story... on the Wednesday, Haley was popping into the house during lunch hour to pick up something she had forgotten, she saw a lady pulling into our driveway.
The lady said to her "I'm coming to see your house tonight".
Haley said "the house is not for sale" (although there is a for sale sign on front lawn).
Lady said, "what do you mean?"
Haley said, "well, you can buy the house all you want, but we come with it."
The Lady (who is now really confused), says "oh... your joking... ha ha... right?"
Haley says, "nope" and came into the house and closed the door behind her.
Turns out the lady was one of the couples who put the offer on the house, but they had already sold their own house and need the house earlier than we were wanting to move.
I still laugh and wonder what the poor lady thought of Haley's little act.
Over the next couple of weeks I'm going to be sharing, on ideas of how we got our ready to be showings and as well as sharing some ideas on how we are getting ready to move. Oh and I will also be sharing WHY, after 8 years we decided to sell our dream home.
Thanks to all who wished us good luck and sent us positive energy. We appreciate it.
