Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree

Hey all,

My tree, has been up for awhile, but it took me awhile to take pics of it.

Just like the rest of the house, the tree is sparkly with gold and silver. I wanted a simple theme this year, no fuss no muss. I have added little spots of Christmas colour here and there but mostly its gold and silver. It's a fake tree in case you are wondering.

The ornaments we've had for many many years.  Most of the silver snowflakes are from dollar store.

Our tree is right inside our front door beside my green table.

At night it's lovely to see from outside.  It glows!

On the table beside the tree are two gold deer that I picked up at Michaels this year on 70% Clearance. I added some black and white ribbon for fun.

In front of them is a small gold plate (also form Michael's Clearance) to hold our Christmas cards as they come in.  Kids have had fun checking to see what new cards we get every day.

Our Christmas tree topper is a silver sparkly retro star.
The sparkles bounce all off the lights and it looks like a disco ball at night.

Under the table I've added some colour with boxes from dollar store
(from a few years ago) that we use  to store the ornaments in. They are there mainly to hide the cords behind them and to add a little bit of colour.

To hide the bottom of the tree I added a fur piece that I picked up at Goodwill for $2 recently.

So here is one last pic of my  our Christmas tree.

So that is my simple gold and silver tree.

I asked this  question on Somerset Facebook page recently and I got mixed answers.

What are your thoughts on fake vs. real trees? I have to admit the smell would be divine, but the falling needles would drive me batty.
