Ideas for Kid's Valentine's Cards

How to make kid's heart Valentine's card with pencil

I know that if you go  into any supermarket or superstore, you will see a display full of Valentine's Day cards that kid's can choose to give out on Valentine's Day.  At our house, it has become a tradition to give out pencils to class mates for different holidays (Christmas, Easter) and other celebrations (Halloween).

Valentine's Day is no different.  This time around, we wanted a little something extra instead of just giving out the pencils.

I present you Anthony's Card's that he will giving out this year.  We made them together. ;)

These are the supplies we started with, which we picked up at Dollarama.

Instructions:
  1. Have the child write something on medium size heart.  (Anthony just wrote his name.)
  2. Take bigger heart as your base, place medium size (with adhesive backing) and place on top. Rocket science I know. ;)
  3. Hole punch holes on large heart for the pencil.
  4. Place small felt heart on tip of pencil and another small felt heart on eraser part of pencil.  We cut out a deeper V out of small felt heart to make the end of the arrow.

Here is my little guy writing his name out on all of the cards.  Very serious work.

Do your kids make their own cards? Or do you buy pre-made ones? (I've done both over the years)
