Here is the placemat. See... $1.37! The colours remind me of spring with all the flowers and vines and all.
So this is what I did...
1. Make an opening in the side of the pillow with a seam ripper tool.
- Make sure that the opening is wide enough to fit your pillow insert. Or if you are just using Pillow- fill, make sure it's wide enough to fit your hand in there.
2. Use a simple backstitch to close your pillowcase.
Yes, that is my attempt at a extreme-close-up. #fail
But you get the idea.

It has some stichwork on the flowers. I think it looks pretty. Doesn't look like a placemat anymore does it?
Since I already had the thread and pillow insert, this project cost me... wait for it... $1.37. Kapchow!! I wish all my projects cost me $1.37.
Here's where I threw my new little pillow. A corner chair that was needing some colour.
A little Spring spruce up in that little corner. It does look Springy doesn't it?
