This week I'd like to introduce you to Courtney from Crafts By Courtney.
Hi there! My name is Courtney and I’m the creator of Crafts by Courtney. I’m a stay-at-home mom of 3 boys (5 and under) and have been married to my loving and VERY supportive husband/editor/web designer for 12 years now!
Without my husband, my site would NOT exist. He has taken ALL his free time to build my site and maintain it. He also helps edit my posts (that’s one of the many reasons I love him). He completely supports my crazy crafting habit.
In my free time I love hanging out with my family, siting back with a glass (bottle) of wine and watching movies with my husband. I know I’m not TOO exciting, but I wouldn’t change a thing :)
How long have you been blogging?
I launched my blog in September of 2013. But…have been working with my husband to create the site for OVER a year. Needless to say, I’m very proud of all our hard work!
Why did you decide to start blogging?
When I originally decided to start my blog, it was going to be just kids crafts and DIY parties only. I LOVE crafting with my boys. We have such a great time together that I wanted to share the crafts I made with other mama’s and inspire them to craft with their kids!
As for the parties, I’ve always loved working on themed parties (especially after having kid). PLUS, I make everything myself…so I get my crafting fix with that as well.
Over time, I decided to add the home decor crafts to the site (mommy needed some crafting time as too). I wanted to show ALL sides of crafting: kids crafts, home decor crafts and do-it-yourself parties (still need to learn to sew though). Everything on a budget of course!

What is your favorite post and why?
I don't have a SPECIFIC post, but I think the kids craft posts are my favorite to work on. I’ve always loved crafting with my boys. When I was little, my mom would craft with us and those have always been special memories for me…I think that’s why I craft now!
Where do you find inspiration for your projects?
Other bloggers really inspire me (there are so many creative people out there)! I always find great ideas on Pinterest or in magazines. It’s an ENDLESS supply of creative inspiration.

Describe your typical day.
Every day is SO different around here. I get up with my boys in the morning, make breakfast and get everyone ready for the day.
When nap time rolls around (around noon), I try to get some crafts done, and step-by-step pictures taken. After the kids wake up we go out in the back yard for awhile to play.
When the kids go down for bed, that’s when I write my new posts, edit my pictures and catch up on any social media. Between taking my son to preschool, playdates, MOPS, blogging and mommy time (crafting w/wine), I keep pretty busy ‘round here!
What has been your biggest challenge in blogging so far?
Two things I’m really bad about: comparing myself to other established bloggers and prioritizing my time. But I would have to say my BIGGEST problem is comparing my little blog to all these established and bigger bloggers.
Sometimes I feel like my crafts or pictures don’t measure up…so I have to step back sometimes and tell myself I’m learning everyday and I’ve only been around for a couple months.
In time, I will get there and I’m learning more and MORE everyday. And, when I figure out how to prioritize my time better, you guys will be the first to know!

What excites you the most about blogging?
Inspiring people to try and create something NEW (on a budget). Not just other bloggers, but the moms and newbie crafters that want easy to-make craft ideas…someone who wants to give an area in their house a fresh look or decorate for the holidays!
It’s rewarding to show that YOU can build great memories and create beautiful art & decor on a budget! PLUS, I love showing-off all the new crafts I create with anyone that may enjoy them.
BEST. JOB. EVER.

I think Courtney is so creative and also such a sweetheart. I am always in awe that she has three boys under age 5 and how much crafting she gets done. I am definitely going to use some of her birthday parties ideas this year for Anthony's birthday. If you want to see more of Courtney's projects, then head on over to Craft by Courtney. Tell her I sent ya. ;)
