This year we are not able to go away for March break. Hubby will only take a day or two off from work because of a project deadline he is working on. So we are staying local, and I know we will still fill our days with activities... every day. Or at least that is the plan.
Sometimes the best recipes come about when you are trying to use up little bits of random things. You take a bit of this and a bit of that, and you have something to serve. This was one of those days. And this Double Apple Cake Recipe came out yummy. (the dog like it too, keep reading to find out why)
Last weekend was Family day here in Canada, and hubs and I took the kids to Great Wolf Lodge in Niagara for the night. We checked the pup for her own doggy getaway. It was alot of fun. We were exhausted when we got home and so was Jovi.
If you follow along on Facebook then you might have heard about my mishap at the gym earlier this week, which resulted in a concussion. I'm feeling better now, the head ache seems to be going away. According to doctor's orders, I am supposed to take it easy over the next few days, but she never said I couldn't bake. Which is exactly what I did last night. I only ate one (shhh... don't tell my trainer).
If you follow along on Facebook, then you already know, that our kitchen reno plans have been going on for the past couple of weeks. I can now finally shout it from the roof tops that as of yesterday Phase 1 is completed! Yay. Even Anthony was amazed at the results. ;
Let's talk about the potty, shall we? In our last house, which was over 30 years old our toilets were constantly over flowing. I thought it because they were old. Well we replace them all at $200 a piece, yikes. After all we were buying quality toilet paper, so it couldn't be that. Or was it?
I know that if you go into any supermarket or superstore, you will see a display full of Valentine's Day cards that kid's can choose to give out on Valentine's Day. At our house, it has become a tradition to give out pencils to class mates for different holidays (Christmas, Easter) and other celebrations (Halloween).
Valentine's Day is no different. This time around, we wanted a little something extra instead of just giving out the pencils.
I present you Anthony's Card's that he will giving out this year. We made them together. ;)
CHOCOLATE COVERED STRAWBERRIES! Now that I have your attention... how was your weekend? Super Bowl and Groundhogs Day! Eeek the little rodent saw his shadow, which baffles me 'cause there was no sun to be seen. >:( But now on to Valentine's Day and... ... on to Chocolate Covered Strawberries... yummy. I treated my family on the weekend. :)
